Persiapan Sekolah Tahun 1 – Miki, are you ready?

It has been playing inside my head probably since September… And now the time is getting nearer and nearer… My baby boo… My first born, my Chimiki Chikadee… if going to standard 1. *nangis air mata sebesen

Miki is registered to attend SK Seksyen 2, Bandar Kinrara. The school is practically in front of Mummy Rose’s house,  and 3 minutes drive from our own. Very convenient, good! Less risk on transportation problems and easier on time management. We knew from the beginning that we would send Miki to this school, we didn’t think of any other option when many of our friends are sending their kids to private school or Chinese school. This is mainly because I believe that if you are smart, and if you are hardworking, you will do good just about in any school… So why pay a tonne of money for private school tuition fee?

Anyway, being first timer, I was pretty clueless on how to get Miki registered. After Azman did it online, the confirmation was also online via the Ministry of Education website. Then we went to the school to submit Miki’s documents and the printed confirmation.

Later in November 2014, we received a letter to inform us that school’s book store will open starting 1 Dec and on 31 Dec, which is tomorrow, the formal orientation will be held.

Anyway, despite my mental preparation yang memang tak ready-ready… Tak sanggup menerima hakikat anak dah besar… Material preparation I have done!

Oleh sebab dalam surat cakap 1 Dec dah boleh pergi beli buku, so kitorang pun pergilah pada 3 Dec. Sekali dah sampai depan sekolah dia kata kedai tak bukak lagi… Heyyyyy buang masa tau! And the following week,when we came, luckily they were systematic. They provided a list of books compulsory to buy and others which are optional.

Compulsory ones include the small buku tulis in picture above. Ada buku tulis biasa, buku jawi, buku music, buku Matematik etc. The drawing block pun wajib. On 31 Dec nanti akan dapat buku teks pulak. Pastu aku beli lencana sekolah tu tiga helai. Malasnya nak kena jahit pulak hehe…

And then there is this Fail Peribadi, buku PAFA and buku peraturan sekolah.

Kemudian, oleh sebab aku ni memang jenis tak boleh masuk kedai buku tanpa rasa nak beli semua benda, baik di MPH, BookXcess, Big Bad Wolf mahupun kedai buku sekolah rendah….. I bought the above books yang optional aja dalam senarai.

I bought buku latihan sains, buku Sifir dan Formula untuk sekolah rendah, Kamus Jawi dan Arab, and buku latihan Bahasa  Melayu. Sebab Miki punya subjek paling lemah ialah bahasa Melayu. Pelik aku.. Duk rumah cakap Melayu slang Penang pun boleh tak paham bahasa ibunda..haishh

We just bought this school bag last Saturday at Parkson Alamanda. It is pretty funny because Miki usually do not like cartoon themed stuff.  So school bag with wheels? Checked! Miki also picked up a matching Minion water bottle, Avangers pencil box and some color pencils.

When I was a kid, shopping for new school year was so exciting! Miki doesn’t share the same excitement. He just wanted to play… Perhaps he doesn’t really understand what is going on…. hehe!

I bought 3 pairs of school uniforms for Miki. Now I am thinking if I should get two more so that I don’t need to do laundry in Wednesday and make sure it is dry over night. If Miki has 5 pairs I only need to iron on Sunday and no worries about uniforms the entire week..

Haishh.. when you are a lazy busy maid-less mother, this kind of arrangement will save a lot of headache and stress.

Kasut sekolah pulak dah beli 2 pasang jenis senang nak cuci. Oleh sebab Miki lebih berminat nak beli patung Baymax dari pilih kasut dia, aku tibai je lah yang cap Diadora ni. Also bought a pair of sports pants and a white t-shirt since the school hasn’t provide his sport house shirt yet.

All of these and a whole bunch of pencils and erasers etc Things that I know will go missing after first day of school. I think I have pretty much every thing in place. Now must train Miki the value of money and how to buy stuff from the canteen.

First day of school for the year 2015 is scheduled on 5 Jan 2014 but yesterday it was announced that it is postponed to 12 Jan due to the massive floods in some areas in the country. Untungla ko Miki dapat cuti seminggu lagi…

Anyway, I really hope Miki will have a great Year 1! I hope he will be able to focus in huge class and I hope he will stand out in the crowd. Good luck Miki! Good luck Mummy!
