I had so much fun Shangrila Putrajaya for an event organized by Dove Hair Therapy for their latest campaign called “Serlahkan Diri Dalam 14 Hari Dengan Dove”.
When I earlier got the invitation to this event, I thought hey, I really have to go this time! They were going to be talking about hair lost. Although my main hair problem currently was my platinum highlights but I did suffer from hair fall every now and then.
So I signed up and once I arrived, I was greeted with an amazing 20 minutes of head and shoulder massage. These people had to be kidding me, I am sooo having massages at my own events from that day on. It was really relaxing.
Hanie Hidayah and I
After the massage, other participants and I got up close and personal with a relationship and personality consultant, Aniqah Husda. She was such a nice lady! She was very soft spoken, lemah lembut and the way she spoke was very soothing.
She said “Improve relationships with your loved ones by spending more time with them. Improve your relationship with your husband with a little belaian every now and then.”
I agreed with her. Everyone needed TLC every once in a while if not all the time?! But what agreed the most with Aniqah were her points on communications. I believed communication was key for all relationships and a lot of problems could be resolved by clear communications.
We also had a session with a Grooming Consultant Hanim Abdul Rahman. She was fun and vibrant and taught us how to choose the right color for our daily outfits. She also organized a game for the participants whereby we get to write down positive things that we like about each other. Three comments that I got was
1. Nice accessories that matches my outfit (this was rare, I tell ya…)
2. Long legs! (I got this compliment all the time)
3. Nice jacket! (Why thanks! Hehe… )
All of these comments told me one thing – I have to be confidence of my own inner beauty! No matter how bad we girls feel we look sometimes, but actually there’s always something about us that other people find appealing. So yeah! Always put your head up high, smile and be confident! Everyone is gorgeous is the own way!
After dinner we were ushered to the Pillow Talk! All of us were given a nice comfy Dove bathrobe each and seated among fluffy cusions. I was excited because Yasmin Hani and Sharifah Shahirah or Shiera were the celebrity panels and the moderator was Nana Mahazan. The three of them were so gorgeous.
Also speaking was Su and Nadia, two real women championing the Dove Campaign. The panelists shared their hair fall dilemmas and their personal journey in overcoming hair fall to regain their self-confidence.
The interactive session between the women revealed how common hair fall is and the various causes of hair fall such as stress, poor diet, lack of sleep and post-partum hair fall. The women went on to share their tips on being free from hair fall and gaining self-confidence once again. The three celebrities were so lively, eloquent and funny. I was very entertained and inspired with them.
Both Su and Nadia used the new Dove Hair Fall Rescue Range when they had hair fall problems. Now Su allows her husband to play with her hair all the time. Before this she shy away even from her husband because of her terrible hair fall. Kesian her! OMG! Anyway, this range can strengthen and nourishes hair from the roots because it contains Trichozole active with Ginseng and Soy Protein.
This range of Dove products specially designed to combat hair fall in 14 days. So I think I ought to give it a try.
Products in the range include: Shampoo that cleanses the scalp; Conditioner after shampooing that helps prevent breakage and strengthens hair from root to tip, visibly reducing hair fall due to breakage in two weeks2 and the Leave-On Intensive Hair Tonic is applied directly to the scalp, and works to visibly reduce hair fall.
During the launch, we met with Ashlee Ng, Personal Care Director, Unilever (M) Holdings Sdn Bhd. She said, “Dove believes that hair is an extension of how a woman feels inside out and facing hair fall can be a challenging journey but as Su and Nadia have proven, it is better to share and support each other in regaining self-confidence over hair fall,”
I sure gained a lot from this Dove workshop. Like I always say, communication is the key! Even if you have hair problems, share it with the ones close to you and for all you know, the solution is right in front of you.
My own experience with hair fall? Well I had two babies and after each delivery, I also experienced hair fall. There was hair all over my bedroom floor! It scared me just thinking about it. When that happened my husband encouraged me to cut my hair shorter which was pretty sad coz I knew he likes my hair long. Anyway, although post-partum hair fall is almost inevitable, now every woman has a better hope in battling it.
