We were having my favourite food in the world – Nasi kandar one day at the Mamak near our house. Usually when we savour this sinful delicacy, we will give Rafa some raisins or soft bread or biscuits for him to munch. So takda lah dia mengamuk wanting to eat what we were eating. That day, we gave him a soft waffle that he loves. He would eat ¾ of the waffles and scatter the rest on the floor in bits and pieces. (mesti mamak kedai tu macam sabar je kalau kitorang datang kan?) anyway, since he turned 1, Rafa began to refuse his good old baby food and starting to demand for our food.
Memang tak boleh la kan cause we are having kari kepala ikan kot!
Anyway that day Azman and I was having our usual fish head curry (yums!) and a whole bunch of other dishes. We ate and we talked and I don’t remember what was it about that we were so engrossed in our conversation. Sembang punya sembang without any interruption from Miki or Rafa.
You see, I have always known this – there must always be noise and chaos when my kids are around coz in peace and serenity THERE MUST BE TROUBLE!
True enough, I shifted my attention to Rafa and guess what he was doing? He was munching on a cheek bone from fish head curry! Arghhhhh!!!
I shrieked and I turned to pick up my phone to record this. ( I should have grabbed the bone from his hand first, shouldn’t I?? Oops sorry and a gadgety mom hehe!) Gosh, Rafa is totally different than Miki. At 12 months he enjoys spicy food so much he stole them off our plates! Adoila…Apparently he quietly took the bone from Azman’s plate without him noticing (itu pun menakjubkan jugak tu) and eating it like it was candy. Rafa!!! Tak pedas ke??? You could get tummy ache you know….
Oh well… what to do… Rafa is a true Penang boy… lepak mamak… makan kari… I love you baby! I know your food preference but I will monitor your food intake carefully.
Remember, no curry until age three and no girlfriend until age thirty.
Love, Mummy.
PS- Just kidding. No girlfriend until you are 28 25 20 finish high school.
wahahahaha… adoi Rafa… seleranya kutil tulang!
You are so right about quiet = trouble. I have only one child now…. even that.. noises do penetrate into my sleeps. Kalau diam sangat… tengah dok tido siang pun boleh jaga and terus jerit sekuat2 hati : “Nada ! Where are you? What are you doing?…”
