After an exciting arrival, I was invited for welcoming dinner at Churrascaria Búfalo Restaurant. It is actually one of the most famous Brazil steakhouse in Manaus.
The steakhouse offers a popular Brazilian barbecue – churrasco, which is made of whole cuts of meat or pikanya that are skewed and barbecued in a “churrasqueira” made of bricks. The meat is cooked and then served at the table. The waiter will wander around the table, each carrying a specific cut of meat. This kinda remind me of a scene in the movie Rio that Miki watched so many times.
The only thing that you should do is just by turning the card/chip to green if you want their waiter to come and serve the meat, while turn to red if you don’t want.
But, I cannot give any comment about the meat because I didn’t try any. My card only turn to red to whole night…sigghhh..
But I still could enjoy the food in this restaurant because the “churrascarias” and meat is actually only parts of an all-you-can-eat buffet. They have a beautiful salad bar, casserole bar and well served sushi and sashimi.
The buffet also serves rice, different type of fruit, fruit mousse, pudding, delicious grill pineapple with cinnamon and sugar and some strange local fish stew such as pirarucu (arapaima) and tambaqui.
This place was simply fantastic. All the foods were delicious. To get a taste of the biggest freshwater fish in the world , arapaima or pirarucu fish that I can only saw in the zoo and aquarium in Malaysia is thrilling. I cannot compared the taste with any Malaysian fish because I never taste huge fish before. The meat tastes a bit like salmon but a little chewy.
At the end, we need to order a special dessert. This is what I choose. It’s called zucotto de cupuacu and the price of this choc cake is RM30!!
Very expensive and very delicious too. However, I am never the fan of choc cake..so I didn’t finish it. I just wish I could tapau this for Diyana and the kids but I cannot! Instead, I tapau Photo Stream picture only for her!
So, that’s it. My first dining experience in Brazil. Thanks to my Brazilian counterpart for taking us to the restaurant. Over all, my entire trip to the Americas this time was good in terms of dining. I didn’t get much problem finding halal food. Next, I am going to write about my experience fishing for pirahna! You fishing lovers stay tuned!
