Last Saturday Azman and I took the kids to The Curve to hunt for my baju raya. Hehe! This year my whole family in Penang will be wearing turquoise and I just have to join in… Problem is, I DON’T KNOW WHAT TURQUOISE IS!! I keep getting it wrong.. I pick one turquoise dress and it turned out blue, pick another one and it is actually green.. haishh… in fact we have bought Azman a baju melayu in so called turquoise but now I really think it is baby blue…
While shopping we looked around for a place to break our fast. I was thinking the IKEA Ramadhan Buffet again but then we saw that Garden Café was having a special Ramadhan promotion for iftar. I have always liked Garden and I think their food are delicious so I guess why not… The promotion offered was also quite tempting especially in terms of value for money.
For RM49.90++, the Platter for Two can actually feed 3 to 4 people. For drinks, we can choose two out three Ramadhan favorites – soya cincau, ice lemon tea or bandung cincau. We had the first two and they were delicious! Plus, if you take this Platter for Two promotion, the drinks are bottomless. Hooray!
Included in the Platter is also two plates of rice, you can choose from buttered rice or plain white rice. The rice is also refillable but we didn’t order any extra at all despite sharing with Miki. I guess we are not big on rice. hehe
The lauk-pauk in the platter include Sup Ekor or Oxtail Soup that’s delicious. Miki loves it especially the celery they put in the soup. They also have Sea Bass Curry. The fish is fresh and nice.
They have my favourite Beef Rendang too! Now that is 3 main protein dishes right? and the portion is quite big too! On top of that, we are served with two fried chicken drumstick and keropok ikan plus papadom. The only thing missing in the Platter is a vegetable dish.
We had some fruits as well, fresh and yummy… And that is the only thing Rafa can eat from the entire Platter. Kesian Rafa! haha…
For appetizers, we were served a karipap, popia and jellies. Although the jelly was not sweet enough, the other kuih was very tasty.
For desserts, Garden served us sago with Vanilla Ice Cream. It is delicious but I still prefer Sago with Gula Melaka. Over all, the food was tasty but Garden can do better in their Beef Rendang that tasted too coconutty and the curry that could use a pinch more salt. I don’t know maybe that day the chef puasa kot! hehe
All that for RM49.90++.. not bad right? The food was plenty we didn’t finish all the rending and the curry… Miki thinks sago is little fish eyeballs so he hardly touches it… Mengada betul!
So there you go, an options for buka puasa meal that is delicious and wont burn a hole in your pocket.
What do you guys think of Miki’s new look? Hahaha! I bought that Harry Potter frames for him for RM5 and I think he looks more like Simon from the Chipmunks! Too adorable! hahaha… Rafa’s sleeveless top is from Fisher Price, super cute and comfy.
These are my boys.. Miki wont eat spicy stuff but Rafa is totally kuat makan and he would eat just about anything!
Abang Miki tasted the orange and he gave it back to Daddy sebab masam sangat, Then Azman gave it to Rafa and the baby straight away bit on it and suck all the juice! Miki tercabar and terus sumbat an entire slice in his mouth! LOL
Rafa si comot after a slice of watermelon… 🙂 And he wants more..
That’s the bunting in case you guys want to refer to. We had a nice one at Garden hope you will too! Have a nice day everybody!
