Potty Training – It’s The Best Day Ever

On Monday 18 Oct, I fetched Miki from Mama Rose’s and he was not wearing his diapers. The  2 years and 9 months old kiddo was as hyper as usual but he pulled his pants slightly lower that his crack was showing. Apparently, his beloved babysitter had initiated the Potty Training and it took several days for Miki to stop insisting to wear Pampers.

I don’t know what kind of psychological approach that Mama Rose had undertaken, these days Miki keep saying “Miki dah besar, tak payah pakai Pampers!”. Just up until last Sunday he made me swaddled him in his towel after bath, carry him like baby while he made fake baby-ish cry – “Miki ni baby! Miki ni baby….Uwekkk! Uweekkk” Setiap kali mandi uols! *pengsan*

Anyway, when we arrived home I took him to the bathroom and we waited for awhile until he does the number one but he only looked at me, shrugged and said “Takde apa la Mummy! Takde.. takde…” As though we were waiting for the postman only to find we received no mail for the day.

His Daddy however took more drastic measures. He rolled the carpets in our living room for fear of Miki’s leakage! Oh my sleek gold brown carpet.. Safely rolled up in the storeroom now making my cosy living room looking so bare and cold.. With a sigh I told Azman that I consider this as a sacrife for Miki to inch further in his childhood but Azman said nahhh… kalau dia kencing atas karpet ni kang susah, aku tak kuasa nak cuci… hmmphh!

Anyway, being really supportive, I know Miki was not comfortable wearing just pants terkontang-kanting like that, so we went to Jusco to get him some boxers.

As we arrived at ioi Mall, Miki was really happy! We had dinner and he ate a lot of vegetables with his rice so then he got a lollipop. He also got to choose for his own spender boxers, he got these really cute Chuggington ones! He also got new pair of slippers and a toy! Later on he was playing chase with his Daddy and poor the old man had to run almost the entire ioi Mall after the happyly laughing little boy..

Finally when Azman managed to catch him and he was carrying him to the car… Miki was singing, “IT’S THE BEST DAY EVERRRR….. IT’S THE BEST DAY EVERRR….” An original soundtrack from Spongebob. I thought it was just a coincidence but Azman believed that Miki really understand what he was singing! Either way that’s just so freaking CUTE!

Up until bed time, Miki shee shee in the toilet once  and in his pants twice. The first time he wet his pants he took it off and came running to me telling  that there’s water on the floor! Aiii sebijak-bijak pandai petah bercakap tapi tak tau identify kah?

Anyhow, I am sure soon Miki will get the hang of it be off the diapers for good at least during the day. Dah tak pakai Pampers dah anak aku… sighh…
