The Last Airbender – Miki the Little Avatar

We went to watch The Last Airbender on Saturday. For someone who has never watched the cartoon series, I simply love the movie! I love it! Love it!

As usual, the good guys would look like Mat Salleh and the bad guys would look like Asians and in this case – Indians, typical Hollywood movie but what the heck, Hollywood bullshit is always a believable bullshit. And Sokka is cute. Nuff said.

I must say Miki enjoyed the movie too. Once it was over and we were walking out of the theater, my lil Chikadee started to narrate the story back to us.

“Abang tu tarik air tu! Abang tu tumpahkan air tu! Bla bla bla….Monster… bla bla bla…. Api… bla bla bla…. Meletop… bla bla bla…”

Yang aku tak tahan sambil dia bla bla bla tu tangannya merewang2 uols!

He spins his arm around with his tiny yet powerful fist, trying to intimidate movements of the characters in the movie. Didn’t bother me a single thing when his Daddy was carrying him around but once we got into the car, Miki sat on my lap and I made a horrible horrible mistake. As he pushed the “airbending power” from his open palm towards the front side of the car,I pointed to a couple of Malaysian flags on the poles by the roadside and said,

“Wow, Miki buat flag tu terbang!” Didn’t Oprah told us not to lie? Well, I lied! I was only trying to be fun! And yet I had to pay for the consequences. For the next 24 hours after Miki watched M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender, he thought he was THE NEXT AVATAR.

If you think that the movie is cute. Let’s look at it from my perspective. Try and answer this simple question! Bagaimana nak basuh berak budak 2tahun yang sungguh nasty poopoonya sambil beliau practice airbending begitu? Haa…Cakap? Cakap?
