Woooo! Fireworks! Woooo!

The Malaysia International Fireworks Competition 2007 was held at Putrajaya from 18 August till 2 September 2007. Azman and I went to see Italy, Japan and Canada’s performances.

The first time we were there for Italy’s we managed to get really close to Putrajaya International Convention Center (PICC). So close that we can hear the background music playing. After all it was a musical fireworks competition and every bang! was musically choreographed.

I was trying to capture the 20 minutes long show with our dvd recorder, but there was this little kid, I think about three or four years old that screamed “Woooooo!!” on top of his lungs at every exploding firework. He was standing really near to us so despite being close to PICC, the background sound for my recording was not Italian music but a kid yelling “ Woooo! Woooo! Woooo!” for TWENTY WHOLE GODDAMN MINUTES!

The second time we went was on Merdeka night but at a different location. This time we got to see the Japanese fireworks decorating the skies beside the picturesque Putrajaya Mosque. The beauty was almost magical.

Canada’s final show on 2 September was my personal best experience but Azman was not really happy about a huge crane that appears in his pictures. We stationed at a construction site on the right side of the firing zone. This time the fireworks display appeared gigantic and every booming sound was louder than thunder.

It was indeed an exciting fireworks show experience, but the sound woke my baby and he started to kick furiously. What a pity that our tiny baby is a little on the ‘unborn’ side or else he could have joined mummy and daddy to watch the skies lit up with glorious colors of the fireworks.

Maybe next time kid, when you are older, just promise you won’t scream “Wooo! Wooo! Wooo!” no matter how enthusiastic you get, okay?! That would just annoy the crap out of your mother…

  6. “woooo…woooooo…” berteriak kanak2 itu & aku turut serta..kanak-kanak riang itu diam bila gambar mereka di rakam..sungguh malu kanak-kanak riang itu..seperti aku jugak!! :sinchan: kepeh2 satu kali tangkap gambaQ KU di tepi frame aje..ha ha ha

  7. my fren said…the show was about 20 minutes but the jam…perghhhhhhh more than an hour. naib baik aku tengok dari rumah ku di putra perdana. dengan pemandangan yg jelas setiap percikan bunga api, minus the dentuman yang membingitkan….yey yey yey

  10. Nice pics Di. Jam teruk la… I left Putrajaya when everyone was going there…. but both side of the highway to Putrajaya especially at the bridges was full of people!

  20. Cantiknya… malu compared to gambar bunga api kat my blog… dan you & azman pergi tiga kali walaupun kena lalui jem dan segala bagai… phew….
