:: AdSense :: Journey to AdSense WebmasterWorld

I’ve been developing my own website since 1996. It’s actually a plain first generation Manchester United website called United We Stand. During that time, my website got an average 200 visits per day. Then, I developed another website called 100% Dragonball Mutiara Naga. This website also got an average 200 visits per day. However, around year 2000, I just stop taking care and updating those websites and since that, I’m losing almost all my visitors.

At the end of last year, I met my friend Sulaiman aka Offshoreman at a mamak stall and he talked fancy about his earning from the internet. He has plenty of websites and his earning mostly came from Google Adsense program. It’s hard to believe that he is gaining 4 digits profit from that program that actually been introduced to him by ME! Since that, I start thinking, if AdSense had been available in 1999, I would have NEVER shut down my Manutd & Dragonball fan site that received a combined 400 hits per day. I would have been able to earn money from that traffic and probably turned a profit just like him. So, what is AdSense? AdSense is actually a contextual advertising by Google that matches ads to your site’s content, and you earn money whenever your visitors click on them.

I already stop developing websites for so long & I really don’t know how to start it again. This new generation website seems so different. If I want to re-start, I have to learn a lot about Web 2.0 and CMS to be successful in this internet industry. Luckily, I have my wife, Diyana that actively blogging with Friendster Blog. She gives me an idea on where to start !!… so..early this year, with a combination of my interest in making money from the internet & Diyana interest in blogging, I register this diyanazman.com as a blog website using WordPress and import Diyana’s Friendster Blog into this new blog and we started our adventure in AdSense world !!!

I do admit that for our first 3-4 months we didn’t focus much on AdSense because blogging seemed so much fun and got us forgetting about earning extra money. So, our earning were not so good.. However, starting May 2007, Diyanazman.com come with a new look and we also become more serious with AdSense. With the help of some tips from friends, Thank God…our earning increased almost 400% in May.
