About a week before raya, Miki received the first postcard in his entire life and it came all the way from Germany. It was sent by my sister Shanaz that Miki was supposed to call Cik Naz but instead he calls her Cinas or Shinas or Dia Tu. The card was also from my brother in law, Abdullah that Miki was supposed to call Cik Abi or Cik Dollah but instead he calls him Chee Ah Bee or Orang Putih Tu.
When we sent Shanaz and Abi at KLIA in August, Miki cried buckets melalak-lalak because he wanted to follow them there. He saw Shanaz’s photo playing with snow and since then he is convinced that Pororo lives in Germany somewhere near Cinas’s house. *slap forehead*
Miki, oh Miki… so gullible little Miki. You won’t see any magical creatures just because it is snowing my son! First you have to send your wish list to Santa!
My first postcard
This Hari Raya also marks Miki’s first time going trick-or-treating around kampung collecting duit raya. When my niece Farah (age 8 ) and Sarah (age 4) wanted to go beraya to nearby houses, I suggested Miki to follow them and boy wasn’t he happy to be allowed to wander outside with his cousins.
It was my idea in the first place but once he set outside, I started to get so syahdu… waaaa! my son is so big already!! dah keluar berjalan kutip duit raya keliling kampung…
“Miki jaga-jaga jalan tu tengok kereta, tengok motor! Jalan pegang tangan Kakak Farah tau… Kalau dapat duit simpan dalam beg ni.. Ucap selamat hari raya, jangan lupa kata terima kasih… Farah tengokkan Miki jangan bagi jatuh longkang, jangan bagi dia lari-lari kejar cat”
Pesan punya pesan dengan aku-aku sekali sampai rumah sebelah! *pengsan*
See aren’t they cute walking while holding hands like that *love* Sarah and Farah has sling bags but Miki has nothing so I dug out my mom’s junk drawer and found an old pencil case that became Miki’s duit raya bag. hehe..
Jom pergi kutip duit raya! Kerut-kerut muka tahan panas pukul 10am… Perhatikan seorang dewasa berbaju merah yang menyibuk ikut kat belakang…
They went to less than 10 houses only. That’s within 100 meter radius from my mom’s house only! hehe! But his collection was about RM20! Not bad eh?
Jom, pergi umah ni dulu…. Mummy Daddy followed slowly behind, too nervous to let son go…
Makcik… Kami nak raya!
Amboih.. makin jauh nampak…
Hari Raya is a good time to recall Miki’s growth rate and milestones. On his first Raya he was 8 months old. Couldn’t walk or talk. His second raya was celebrated when he was a year and a half months old. He was sick with herpangina and it one of the most painful raya we ever had. The third raya, Miki was already big, super cute and cheeky with long curly hair…
And this year, he walked out of the house to go beraya… what’s next raya has got to offer I wonder… Is he going to 20 houses this time? 40 houses? Is he going to hang around with his cousins and friends more than me? Is he? Is he?
Mummy and Daddy loves you Miki. Be good now son.. be good! Selamat Hari Raya to you..
Awww shoo cute! Miki dah besar. Rasa sgt cepat kan.
