I woke up this morning thinking about our next holiday. I am so excited. We are going to the harem of monkeys! No, not Vegas.. you wish!
We are going to go and see the colony of the proboscis monkey – the horniest ape the world, that can only be found in SABAH! Yeaa Sabah, wa caya sama lu!
This is gonna be our second time in Borneo, first time I went there was to celebrate my birthday on Mount Kinabalu. This year I would like to celebrate my birthday in Sabah again, because I simply love the land below the wind. The landscape is gorgeous, the food delicious, the ocean crystal clear, the shopping spots exciting and well, the food delicious.
I only eat halal/kosher remember? So anyplace that serves great seafood get extra beanie points from me. Why do you think I haven’t gone back to Bali since the first time? It is the pigs!! They were everywhere!! Babi guling here, babi guling there! What do you expect me to eat during my holidays? Maggi mee? Aiyoo.. I have enough of those during the nights that I am lazy to cook. And that is like… every other night, ok!
This time around we would like to take Miki to the River Safari as he loves animals very much and we want him to be a tough kid. Too much hanging out at the mall makes us weak. Once in while we all need to get back to nature.
I found out about this Sabah River Cruise/ River Safari during the recent Matta Fair and loved the idea about wildlife watching especially fireflies! Miki has never seen those, it would be a great experience for him. But I know very little about this activity.
Anybody has been on similar trip care to share experiences with me?
Another question that I was hoping somebody might answer to me – Has anybody died while snorkeling? Because I am afraid of water monsters but I would like to try.
OMG what about sharks? Is there any sharks in Sabah waters? *pengsan*
Snorkelling is fun! I didn’t know how to swim so the first time saya terjun saya jadi snorkeras. But hey! I’m still breathing and now addicted to snorkerlling!
ayaq, betul ekk? tak mati ekk??? ko jamin eehh? aku muda lagi ni…

restoran makbulmabul! 🙂I just pluck out my grey hairs. its not that many lol
erwinator, therefore, you dont deserve any holiday at all. myself otherwise, need one badly before i turn all-white! haha
Diyana…syoknya kalau dpt pi sabah…ntah bilalah akak boleh sampai sana ….
bawa insect repellent!
Diyana (clears throat),
Untuk snorkeling lite-lite bersama Miki aku suggest island hopping to Pulau Manukan, Sapi dan Mamutik – and that being Manukan yang paling lawa with the best facilities. About 30 minutes boat ride from KK jetty.
For seafood maybe hang boleh try Tanjung Aru. About 15 mins taxi ride from KK. KK waterfront is just so-so.
Pasar Gaya is on every Sunday morning, in the heart of KK city. Really cheap t-shirts and stuff.
Or maybe for an extra effort hang boleh pi Poring Hot Spring in Ranau, around 3 hours ride from KK. Ada hot springs, butterfly farm, canopy walkway, rafflesia centre, etc. Dalam tu ada resorts, maybe boleh spend 1-2 days there. And the waitresses wear skimpy outfits.
I guess I don’t have to tell much about Kundasang. Hang dah tau kot.

babi guling di Bali….what a sight…hahaha
aku igt river safari sama mcm white water rafting haha.tkejut baca ko nak bwk miki..tp river safari ni mcm best.cuma kenapakah aku rasa seram tgk sungai dia yg besar…shark kan kat lautttt..ni sungai bukankahhhh or adakah probability ada crocy?? takotttlah..ajak gi safari kat bangkok lahh..
I went to kinabatangan river safari ride before (masa tu belum preggy lagik). You can see a lot of birds for sure, monkeys, pgymy elephant if you are lucky, and other unique animals yg takde kat KL nie…While I was there memang ada satu couple mat salleh nie bawak their 4 year old son, orait je dok kat kabin so I think no problem for miki as well. I’ve been to sipadan, too such an amazing place tapi kalau nak bawak miki susah sket kot. Personally, I just love sabah!Enjoy!
Hey I saw that largest flower, Rafflesia arnoldii which was huge and around more or less 1 meter in its diameter. Then I had gone for Canopy Walk which was hypothetical to be a track walking path. Then the 2 different waterfalls. Bathe within the Japanese-fashion baths. I took a look at Butterfly Farm.
