If you ever ask me about my favorite movies; the answer is most definitely EVERYTHING TIM BURTON EVERYTHING JOHNNY DEPP! All the way since Edward Scissorhands, through Sleepy Hollow and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
I may be a biased fan to begin with but anyhow I think Alice in Wonderland is really terrific! Watched it in 3D and I must say Hollywood’s 3D effect makers have far improved. Is it only me or can I say Alice in Wonderland’s 3D is much better than Avatar?
Aku mengelak ok! Masa piano tu jatuh nak timpa Alice.. Cam hampeh je! Nasib baik tak terbang semua popcorn! But hardly did I budge during any of Avatar’s freaky action scenes, including the part when a badak sumbu-looking dinosaur came charging.
The whole story is based on Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass but having read the books, I can see that Burton has made it strayed very far.
When Alice arrived to Wonderland, the creatures there were doubtful if she was the real Alice that once came visiting 13 years ago. Although Alice’s character is very strong and determined, she denied that she was indeed THAT Alice, because hello? She was supposed to slay a dragon?!!
Would you admit that you are Saiful when you know you would have to surrender your butt to the media? No right? But literally in Saiful’s case he did. He is more wacko than Alice. Nuff said.
Anyway back to the movie, I love (I always have) the character played by Johnny Depp; the Mad Hatter. Although once in a while I saw Captain Jack Sparrow there but never the less Depp is one terrific actor and most entertaining indeed.
(While I am typing this my legs are doing the Fudderwack dance under my desk)
The Red Queen played by Helena Bonham-Carter is another prominent character in the movie, very funny and wicked. Boy, that d.o.n.g.g.a head sure reminds me of mine. Ehehehhe!
She has this sibling’s rivalry thing with her sister, poor big headed thing. If I had known her personally, I’d tell her that although her head is a hot air balloon lookalike, at least she doesn’t have the case of the armpit like her sister, the White Queen.
Played by Anna Hathaway and although very funny, the White Queen’s character is a little disappointing. I wish her makeup had been a little more rosy than gothic and why is she walking like she has a huge bisul di kedua-dua belah ketiak?
Akan tetapi…. Aku pun dah start jalan dengan tangan macam ni sekarang! Lalalaaa lalalalaa!!
Alice in Wonderland is such a great movie, entertaining and fun. It is even a little bit scary for small kids but what the heck. If you can bring your kids to pasar malam, you can take them to see this movie. In fact, Sungei Wang is much scarier.

Diyana…just thought of going to see the movie this coming weekend…saw the poster the last day we went to see Sherlock Holmes…and my youngest son keep pointing to me that he wants to see Alice in Wonderlan.

I refused to read any reviews about the movie till ive watched it and formed an opinion for myself. But wei.. lawak gila.. apa pasai Saiful masuk dalam cerita nih? Bestlah.. I love this movie.. mcm nak tengok lagi!
